Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Jayek Jimenez (born September 2, 1966)[3][4][5[5]] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. She began her career in Mexico with her starring role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she was awarded an Ariel Award nomination. She soon established herself in Hollywood through appearances in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal of Frida painter in Frida (2002), which she also produced, made Hayek the first Mexican actor to win the Academy Award [6]. This also earned her an Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films and acted in action-oriented films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico in subsequent years.
