Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is an American TV journalist anchor and anchor and commentator on NBC News based in Washington D.C. Following a childhood in New York City, Mitchell earned a BA in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell joined KYW Radio and TV as an Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. She was a reporter for the CBS station WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. She was hired by NBC News Washington two years after that as general reporter. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was promoted to chief congressional correspondent in 1988. She was appointed the chief White House correspondent by NBC News, in 1992. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV program Meet the Press and also was the host for the program. She served as a panelist in the 1988 presidential debates in the debate between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell received the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and, in 2004, in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contributions to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms.
